In 2017 Australia D. Kincannon had just seen Star Wars: The Last Jedi and that was where her writing journey began.
So in love with the story, she went to Ao3 to start her first fanfiction, which she never finished. But, not too long after that, she wrote her first screenplay and continued down that path for a few years. Horror and thriller being her favorite genre to write at the time.
It wasn't until her first time to New York City with her mother and sister to see The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway in its final few months, that she was inspired to write a novel.
"What would happen if I fell into the story I loved so much?"
To be honest, she knew she would probably die right away. But she decided to write a suspenseful romance instead.
Never had she imagined writing would be the thing she loved more than any other form of art she had done throughout her life.
Her high school teachers would be just as shocked.
